Introduction
A couple of years ago, a cheerful happy baby who really loved to ski was born. Her name was Mickaela Shiffrin and this is her story
Early Life
Mickaela was born on March 13,1995 in Vail, Colorado. At a young age Mickaela’s parents were good skiers, they taught Mickaela in a age of two! In 2003, Mickaela moved to New Hampshire with her family, she didn’t race as much as others, instead she just worked on her skills and drills. When she was in kindergarten, her class went on a ski trip. All the kids had to start at the easiest hill, the bunny hill. The ski teachers would watch all the children come down the hill and decide what group to put them in. All the kids were coming down the hill. Falling and using the pizza method to come down slow. Mickaela zoomed down the hill no problem. She had her skis together and gracefully went down the hill. The ski teachers didn’t know what to do with such an advanced 4 year old skier. One more story is that once when Mickaela was 6, her parents had a poster autographed for her by three-time U.S. Olympian Heidi Voelker, who wrote beneath her signature, “A.B.F.T.T.B.” and translated: “Always Be Faster Than the Boys.” Mickaela wrote it on her skis as a junior racer, and now it is written on her helmet as she skis to help inspire her.
Accomplishments
During her lifetime, her greatest achievement was in the 2012 World cup season, Mickaela won three slalom events! Mickaela went on to win a gold medal in 2013 World Championships. After a while, she joined team USA again at 2018 Winter Olympics at South Korea, after the competition she won gold in the slalom events!
Later Life
In Mickaela’s later years she’s probably competing with others or
working on skills and drills, or practicing some hard and complicated
obstacles for getting ready for competitions.
Character Traits
Mickaela is a risk taker because she always when she tried to ski at
the first time, she didn’t say I can’t do it. She is also a thinker because she
always think of brilliant ideas of how to win the competition. Another
character trait is bold because she was being herself and didn’t hide her
ideas.
Conclusion
Mickaela has taught others the valuable life lesson of taking a big step and showing how good she is at skiing, which can inspire others to be a risk-taker. Throughout her life, she always wanted to learn ski and beat others, now she finally beat others because when she failed, she just kept trying until she gets to win the competition. She reminds others about nothing is impossible.
